Hello! Let's talk about HD Foundation & 3D Corrector with Acti-Labs!
HD Foundation:
Acti-Labs offers HD Foundation in a variety of shades. They range under Light Tones, Medium Tones and Dark Tones.
Light Tones - Alsace (Cool), Porcelaine (Cool), and Pompidou (Warm)
Medium Tones - Montmartre (Cool), Trocadero (Warm), and Champs-Elysees
Dark Tones - Bastille, Marseille, Martinique, and Cote d'Ivoire
Foundation is something a lot of women are intimated by. Heck, I'm intimated by it. But with Acti-Labs and my help we can help makes things a lot more easier.
In order to determine which foundation is best for your skin type, it's important to figure out what your natural undertone colour is. There are typically three different types of undertones, Cool, Warm and Neutral.
Cool Undertones: Bluish, pink or ruddy complexion
Warm Undertones: Yellow, sallow, peachy or golden complexion
Neutral: No obvious tones of pink or sallow. Rather it is a nice mix of warm and cool and the skin's natural colour is evident.
Determining a person's undertone can be found by starting with the inside part of the arm, the underlying colour shows well here. It is hidden from the sun and not sun damaged or discoloured, so it's the best place to start when revealing your undertone type.
Then just ask yourself these questions:
1. Does your skin tan easily and rarely sunburn?

Then just ask yourself these questions:
1. Does your skin tan easily and rarely sunburn?
- Yes --> Lean towards Warm or Neutral colours
- No --> More likely Cool-toned
2. Do your veins appear bluish or deep purple; or are they more green?
- Bluish/Purple: Possibly Cool-toned
- Greenish: Warm-toned
- Can't tell: Sounds Neutral
3. Do you look better in silver or gold? (Personal preference aside)
- Silver/Platinum: Cool
- Gold: Warm
- Both: Neutral (Lucky!)
4. Choose two articles of clothing, one pure white and one off white. Pulling your hair back hold the clothing pieces one at a time against your skin. Which colour makes you look better?
- Pure White: Warm-toned
- Off-White: Cool-toned
- Both: Neutral
5. What eye colour do you have?
- Blue, gray or green: Cool
- Brown, amber or hazel: Warm
- Any: Neutral
6. Does your skin look ashen/gray?
- If yes, you likely have the unique tone of olive complexion! This is a combination of natural neutral tones with a slightly yellow undertone everyone has, but also with the green hue that's unique to olive.
So now you've determined your skin tone. Here's the goal now:
- Select neutral foundation shades that only have the slightest hint of your skin's undertone. You don't want to end up too pink or too yellow.
Cool - Slightly pinkish
Warm - Slightly yellow/golden (very subtle)
Olive - Slightly gold to warm up the green tone.
Once again, this step can be very intimating or you can find you go through trying a lot of different colours of foundation before you find the right one. A lot of women can even give up before finding the right shade of foundation because it's just too overwhelming to find the right shade!
This is where my Try Before You Buy option is so incredible! If you live in or around the Kingston, Ontario area we can meet up and do a one on one consultation. Then we could find the right shade for you to get you on your way to feeling confident when wearing your makeup!
